The high performance heavy-lift helicopter Kamov KA-32 A12 (HB-XKE) of Heliswiss takes-off and lands at Heliport Bern. After the shutdown the kind pilot gave us a great photo opportunity and therefore switched all the lights on to present the helicopter from its best side.

The Russian / Soviet-made helicopter is capable of transporting 5 tons of external and 3,7 tons of internal loads. Maximum takeoff weight is 12.600 kg.

The Kamov Ka-32 helicopter is equipped with two powerful turboshaft engines that power two coaxial contra-rotating, three-blade main rotors. The rotors spin in opposite directions and so neutralize torque effects. This eliminates the need for a tail rotor. Listen to the great engine sound!
